Ferries in Patagonia Travel Different

Let us help you put together the best parts of Patagonia.

1. Ruta Fiordos Patagonia
Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales
This is stunning route between Northern and Southern Patagonia.

2.
Getting to Futaleufu (Northern Patagonia)  by Ferry Routes
Taking the ferries in the south of Chile can be romantic and experience in cultural immersion. We recommend it for those who have lots of time and who are up for the adventure.

Ruta BiModal  Puerto Montt/Chaiten/Futaleufu.

Bus/Ferries/Fjords:
A series of three ferries that go through the gorgeous scenery of the Fjord areas. You cut through National Parque Pumalin. Kemel bus services takes you the entire route with one ticket. If you are renting a car a short ferry is first.  Then the middle ferry where a reserve is needed, then the last ferry is short again.   The two shorter ferries are first come first served. The middle longer one needs a reserve.

3.
Ruta  Chaiten - Overnight Ferry direct.

Puerto Montt - Chaiten Route:

A few times a week there are ferries from Puerto Montt to Chaiten an overnight voyage.

4.
Ruta Chiloe

Chiloe to Chaiten:

From Chiloe there are buses through the island and back to Puerto Montt. Not a bad way to see these islands if you have time. The ferry from Quellon on the island of Chiloe to Chaiten  are scheduled several times a week.  Four hour voyage.

5.
Ruta Carretera Austral Sur

Ferry Routes Between Puerto Montt and Puerto Aysen

From Chiloe there are buses through the island and back to Puerto Montt. Not a bad way to see these islands if you have time. The ferry from Quellon on the island of Chiloe to Chaiten  are scheduled several times a week.  Four hour voyage.

6.
The Route of the Southern Cross

Puerto Natales - Puerto Eden - Caleta Tortel - Puerto Yungay

From Chiloe there are buses through the island and back to Puerto Montt. Not a bad way to see these islands if you have time. The ferry from Quellon on the island of Chiloe to Chaiten  are scheduled several times a week.  Four hour voyage.

As of 2017 There is now a ferry connection between the end of the Carretera Austral at Caleta Tortel  (Puerto Yungay)   to transport you and your vehicle to Puerto Natales in Patagonia. The Ruta del Cruz del Australis.  Before one had to drive through Argentina. On this voyage through the remote fjords of Patagonia you will experience a region that is isolated and stunning.   The ferry can serve 100 passengers and transport cargo and vehicles.

It will run once a week from December to January and three times a month between March and November. The voyage is 44 hours. This allows the possibility of renting a car, and  driving between your Torres del Paine trip and your Futaleufu trip experiencing all of Southern Patagonia on the “Carretera Austral”.   Ask our office how you can fit this into your Patagonian vacation and we can help you make the reserve if you are traveling with us.

Reserve the ferry between Tortel (Puerto Yungay) and Puerto Natales
