At Expediciones Chile we select our horseback riding guides from the vast pool of local equestrian talent in this region of Patagonia, Chile. Here the ranchers rely on horses to earn their living and their horsemanship is second to none. Currently our guide team is led by the Baeza Family and many of our trips are centered around their working ranch just outside the village of Futaleufu. The Baezas have been guiding with Expediciones Chile for years and have gotten rave reviews from our many clients. Both Toribio and Fabian have been raised on the back of a horse and they ride everyday to earn their living. Many of our guests, who are experienced horsepersons themselves, leave the Futaleufu River Valley truly amazed by what these two can do on the back of a horse. They are both warm and personable guides who take guiding for Expediciones Chile very seriously. Toribio Baeza: A true Chilean gentelman and horseman. Meeting him will be one of the cultural surprises and joys of our very unique trips. A man of few words and a big heart, this father of three is a busy man. He runs his own ranch and farm while supporting the tourism economy through horseback trips. He also is building a bed and breakfast in his self-made home, at the center of which is an oak tree! His soft-spoken creativity and love is apparent in every nook of their special home and the care he takes with his horses. He is the father of Fabian Baeza. Together they are the core of our horseback riding guide team.





Fabian Baeza: This youngman is a favorite of our horseback riding guests. It is no wonder with his angelic face, smile as big as the ocean, and laughter jolly and warm like a fire. His sense of humor makes every experience with him great fun and his personality truly puts the icing on his horseback trips. He is charming, responsible, and he makes sure your trip will be a memorable one. He is an excellent guide and horseman and works well with any age group, coaching young and old alike with his heaven sent patience and quiet manner.
