We
bring people together,
from all over the world, who share a common
interest in the love of the outdoors; be it
whitewater kayaking, whitewater rafting, sea
kayaking, kayak instruction, trekking, fly
fishing, climbing, cycling, canyoning, horseback
riding or a family retreat. Whether hosting
you, your family, your club, a corporate retreat,
or the world rafting championships, we can
do it.
We
believe in active participation.
We are teachers and guides. The river and
adventure experience provides the opportunity
for you to learn more about yourself, rivers
and the natural environment that surrounds
us all. We believe that there is a commonality
in everyone, be it improving individual skills
or challenging oneself to reach lofty but
attainable goals. We are here to encourage
you, with the highest level of safety and
support.
We
play off the beaten path and through
some of the Andes Mountain’s most spectacular
terrain. Our guests often find that, although
they came to Futaleufu for the adventure,
they find much more meaningful. You too will
have the opportunity to experience the colorful
culture of the Andean people and the astounding
natural beauty of South America while enjoying
the adventurous activities we offer.
We
believe in mingling with the local culture
throughout our trips. The frontier families
in Patagonia, Chile and Argentina, share a
unique bond and style of interaction between
family members that is very different when
compared to North American standards. You
will learn from them as they, in turn, learn
from you. We often invite our neighbors to
join us for a barbeque or a raft trip to experience
different cultures and the splendor that lies
in their own backyard.
We
believe in teamwork and that comradeship
with your fellow adventurers will add greatly
to your enjoyment of the trip. You will meet
interesting people from many different countries,
yet they are united in their common ecological
consciousness and love for rivers and the
great outdoors. When you join us, you will
make friends and memories that will stay with
you the rest of your life. We often hear of
our Alumni re-uniting in other countries,
recreating with friends they made on our trips,
or simply keeping in touch with a postcard
from another corner of the world. During dinner
conversations, stories of the day’s
adventures buzz about.
We
believe our guides and local employees are
the foundation of our business, they
have had years of safe experience guiding
and conducting our trips, and they will personally
introduce you to our region of Chile. They
want to share their passion for the rivers,
mountains and wilderness of the Patagonia
frontier. They have made this guiding their
profession and put your safety and enjoyment
as their top priority.
We
believe in ecological and river conservation.
We have a strong commitment to the free flowing
Futaleufu River. FutaFriends, a grass roots
organization, has a mission to protect this
river and the local culture that depends on
it to live. We are demonstrating that eco-tourism
is a viable alternative to hydroelectric development.
Most
of our guests come on our trips for the challenges
of a new adventure or to escape the pressures
of the outside world, however they often find
much more than just healthy, invigorating
recreation. Come discover the colorful culture
of the Andean people and the astounding natural
beauty of South America, all the while enjoying
the adventurous activities of the Futaleufu
River Valley in Patagonia with Expediciones
Chile.
